My 3 favourite places "dahoam"

I am so privileged to be able to call the region Saalfelden Leogang my home (in Pinzgaurian: "Dahoam"). The musician Herbert Grönemeyer once said, "Home is not a place, home is a feeling!". And it is precisely this unique feeling that Saalfelden Leogang sparks to me - regardless of whether it is summer or winter, spring or fall. As a photographer, you are always on the search for extraordinary objects and moods, but very often it is the simple places that radiate a special spirit. There are many such places in Saalfelden Leogang. To "only" select three of them is not an easy task, but here is my best-of my "Dahoam".

The Ritzensee in Saalfelden - Enjoy actively

THE classic when it comes to great views and magical moments is the lake Ritzensee in Saalfelden. The recreation area around the lake is a true all-rounder - and that regardless of the seasons. Relaxing walks along the circular path, fitness stations in the neighboring Kollingwald forest or winter sports on and around the lake. The Ritzensee is not only a must-see for all tourists, but also a meeting point to all locals.

Always remember: We are entering the living room of many animals around the lake - let us respect their boundaries!

The Hochtor in the Leoganger Steinberge - High above

Often it is not necessarily the destination but stops along the way that are of special value. Such a stop is the Hochtor in the Leoganger Steinberge mountains on the way to the Passauer hut. Next to a small summit cross, between cliffy stone masses and soft meadow, the peace and quiet can truly be experienced. The kilometer-wide panoramic view rewards the ascent to 1922 meters above sea level.

One thing is of particular importance to me: the trash we bring with us must also be taken back down to the valley again. Nature will thank us for it.

The hermitage in the Steinernes Meer - Lean back and relax

The hike to the hermitage of Saalfelden Leogang is probably the most popular of the region. This is not by chance, since already during the first steps you will notice a special atmosphere. After a stressful day, the relatively short ascent brings the perfect balance. From the hermitage you can enjoy a wide panoramic view over the Saalfelden valley (and even far beyond).

Particularly in autumn I love the colorful and warm atmosphere! The sunset in the direction of Leogang is nothing less than magical.
