The Passauer hut is open from mid-June continuously until the beginning of October, as weather conditions permit. Opening and closing of the hut are announced on the homepage and at the parking lots Dießbach and Ullach.
The Passauer hut is the only hut base the Leoganger Steinberge and stands above the "Mittagsscharte" between "Birnhorn" and "Fahnenköpfl" at an altitude of 2051 meters.
The Passauer Hut was built in 1891-1892 by the German Alpine Club, Passau Section, as a simple refuge.
