25 Years of EPIC Bikepark Leogang: Still Making Noise

Four lines, one bold idea and, 25 years later, one of Europe’s best-known bike parks: in 2026, EPIC Bikepark Leogang celebrates its anniversary with a mega competition, World Cup action, community vibes, Night Whip-Off, Expo Area and plenty of airtime.

From four lines to an international bike hotspot

Sometimes big stories begin with an idea that first earns more than a few sceptical looks. Opening a bike park in Austria? Back in 2001, that was anything but obvious. But in Leogang, this idea became reality. The bike park started out with four lines. Today, the EPIC Bikepark Leogang features 21 lines and trails, or 30 including the Riders Playground. The 16,700 uphill rides recorded in the first year have grown to 270,000 rides per bike summer. What began on a small scale is now an international hotspot for mountain bikers and a firm fixture in the scene.

World Cup, World Championships and slopestyle history

Over the past 25 years, EPIC Bikepark Leogang has not only built trails, but also written bike history. The first UCI Mountain Bike World Cup took place here in 2010, followed by the first UCI Mountain Bike World Championships in 2012 and the second in 2020. The third World Championships are already confirmed for 2028. The WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series will also continue to stop in Leogang until at least 2030. Add to that legendary slopestyle events such as 26TRIX and White Style, where international stars of the scene showed off their tricks. In short: Leogang was not just a place to ride. It helped shape mountain bike culture.

2026 is the year to celebrate

The big highlight of the anniversary year takes place from 24 to 26 July 2026 at the (Leo)Gang Days at the Asitzbahn cable car valley station. Admission to the event area is included. In the chillout area at the arena by the Asitzbahn cable car valley station, beats, cool drinks and an Expo Area with the latest gear from partners await. Small challenges throughout the day bring extra action and maybe even a prize or two. For families, the Riders Playground hosts a family rally with an instant prize for every participant. The highlight on Saturday evening: the Night Whip-Off Contest under floodlights. Massive airtime, bikes sideways in the air and a full-on atmosphere. Afterwards, the celebrations continue at the after party.

25th anniversary competition

To mark the anniversary, an automatic photo box will be waiting for you on Hangman II throughout the season. Simply shred the line and download your shot afterwards at no cost. Post the photo on Instagram, tag @bikeparkleogang and use #25epicyears to be automatically entered into the competition. At the end of the season, two major prize packages will be raffled off, one for a male rider and one for a female rider. Prizes include a Scott Gambler in the exclusive “25 Years of Bikepark Leogang” custom design, a Fox bike outfit, a GoPro set and goodies from partners. The more often you ride, the better your chances: one photo per day in the park counts.

Even more bike highlights in the anniversary year

Things get sporty even before the anniversary weekend: from 11 to 14 June 2026, the WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series returns to Saalfelden Leogang. The world’s best mountain bikers will compete in Downhill, Cross-Country Olympic, Cross-Country Short Track and Enduro. In autumn, the next highlight follows: from 2 to 4 October 2026, the bike festival Saalfelden Leogang enters its seventh edition, bringing festival atmosphere, testing opportunities and bike community vibes back to the region.

More than racing

EPIC Bikepark Leogang is not only about World Cup seconds and results lists. It is also a place for first bike park laps, skills training, camps, shared trail days and new abilities. In 2026, numerous riding camps and offers will once again be on the programme. A special focus will be placed on the Ladies Shred events, which support technique training, exchange and more confidence on trails, berms and jumps.

No easy victory lap

25 years of EPIC Bikepark Leogang are more than an anniversary. They show what can happen when a bold idea finds the right terrain. What began in 2001 with four lines is now an international flagship for mountain biking and part of Austria’s largest bike region Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn. In 2026, it is time to celebrate. And one thing is certain: this will be anything but an easy victory lap.
