Kino: ETWAS GANZ BESONDERES
DE 2026; Directed by Eva Trobisch; Starring Frida Hornemann, Max Riemelt, Eva Löbau, and others; Duration: 116 min.
Who am I – and what makes me special? When Lea applies to a TV talent show, she is searching for an answer and trying to find a sense of self that feels right. While she struggles to discover who she really is, her family is dealing with breakups, new relationships and financial worries. Her parents’ guesthouse is on the verge of closing, her grandparents are fighting to save their woodland hotel, and Aunt Kati, a museum director with ambitious ideas about cultural history, keeps rubbing people up the wrong way. In their hometown, an expensive museum renovation clashes with economic hardship.
Amid family chaos, local politics and the quest for the perfect feel-good story, ETWAS GANZ BESONDERES (Something Special) explores identity, solidarity and the everyday madness of life.
With her third feature film, Eva Trobisch has created a family portrait that is as tender as it is painfully honest.
