Algol, the "Demon Star," originally from the Arabic „Al-Ghul“ meaning "Demon's Head", is regarded as a harbinger of danger. In fact, two stars orbit one another, mutually eclipsing each other's light; consequently, their brightness fluctuates periodically: a phenomenon that stargazers historically perceived as a sign of instability and menace. And while these three experimental improvisers never eclipse one another, that sense of menace suits the microtonal music created by Peruvian flutist and aerophone craftsman Camilo Ángeles, Austrian keyboardist Elias Stemeseder, and German drummer Christian Lillinger. Their debut album, recorded in Mexico City, drones with dramatic and dynamic intensity—"structures emerge and dissolve within a continuum that defies any stylistic categorization." It is a dream—and a demonic one at that.
