The Tyrolean Swing-Scheim

Leisurely cycle tour from Saalfelden to Lofer, continuing through Tyrol's most beautiful valleys, back to Saalfelden

The Tyrolean Schwungscheim begins in Saalfelden and initially follows the Tauern Cycle Path via Weißbach near Lofer to Lofer. From there, the route leads westwards to Waidring, where you cycle along the cycle path parallel to the main road through a deep valley before the panorama opens up at Erpfendorf. Continuing towards Kirchdorf, magnificent views of the Wilder Kaiser and the Kitzbüheler Horn accompany the route.

Via St. Johann in Tirol, the route leads around the limestone massif before returning to Saalfelden via Hochfilzen and Leogang. The route runs mainly on cycle paths and quiet side roads with some pleasant gravel sections – ideal for a long day's ride without any technical challenges.

At around 93 kilometres and 920 metres of elevation gain, the tour is physically demanding but easy to ride – a relaxed, scenic route through Tyrol's most beautiful valleys.
