Steinberg ski touring route

Moderate beginner ski tour (approx. 1000 m ascent / 2.5 h) with more demanding sections along the Steinbergbahn slope in Leogang. Start at the Steinbergbahn valley station – destination Asitzbahn mountain station with dining options. Descent via groomed slopes. Parking and use of the route are free – donation requested for regional social project (donation box at Steinbergbahn valley station).

Please note: The ski touring route (next to Steinberg slope 211+212) is open for daily use (within slope operating hours).
The Steinberg slope (No. 211+212) is open to ski tourers until Asitz mountain station on Tuesday, 31.03.2026.

From the Steinbergbahn valley station (812 m) mostly via secured slopes to the Asitzbahn mountain station (1,759 m) – 947 m ascent.'

Ascent
From the Steinbergbahn parking lot, ascend initially along the right edge of the slope, heading towards Kraller Alm.
From there, always follow the ski tourer signage outside the slope edge of slopes No. 211 + 212 up to the mountain station.

Please cross the slopes only at designated crossing points. Choose your ascent route outside the slope and always on the signposted side.

Descent
Follow slopes 212 and 211 down to the valley.
