Moderate standard beginner ski tour (approx. 1000 vertical metres, 2.5 hours) with some more challenging sections by the Steinbergbahn Piste in Leogang. Start is at the Steinbergbahn bottom lift station, finish is at the Asitzbahn top lift station, with refreshment possibilities. Descent is on prepared pistes. Free parking and use of the route. Donations are invited for a local social project (donation box at the Steinbergbahn lift station).
The route from the Steinbergbahn bottom lift station (812 m) mainly follows secured pistes up to the Asitzbahn top lift station (1759 m); height difference: 947 vertical metres. Difficulty: moderate Ascent From the Steinbergbahn car park, head up towards the Kraller Alm on the right-hand side of the piste to start with. From here, follow the ski tour signs away from the edge of pistes 211 and 212 until you get the top lift station.
Please only crossed the piste at designated places. Choose your route up away from the piste, and always on the marked side. Descent Follow pistes 212 and 211 into the valley. This tour is open to ski tourers daily within the opening times of the pistes, and every Tuesday and Friday from 18:00 to 22:00.
Ski touring is only permitted outside the edge of the pistes in the area of the Steinbergpiste (along 211 and 212). Please follow the daily piste closure directions (both for skiing and walking) from 17:30 to 08:00, except on Tuesdays and Fridays from 17:30 to 18:00 and from 22:00 to 08:00 from the last Tuesday before the 24.12 until Good Friday of the following year. The pistes are closed for use before the season from the day that snowmaking and piste preparation begins through to when the first day the lifts open.
