A beautiful circular hike starting from the Asitz or Steinberg cable car mountain station with an impressive view of the Leoganger Steinberge and the Steinernes Meer.
Those who want to experience the mountain in a special way take the Asitz or Steinberg cable car to the mountain station and shortly after alight onto the hiking trail marked by an archway. Passing the TONspur islands and the beautifully situated Asitz II reservoir pond with a Kneipp basin, the path leads to the first summit experience at the Großer Asitz at 1,912 m. Continuing along the ridge and past another rest island with music from the TONspur concert series, the route continues to Sonnkogel, where the natural cinema with breathtaking views awaits. Wooden loungers, armchairs, hammock nets, and a viewing platform provide ample space for a break with a dreamlike panorama. Those who have not yet had enough impressions can extend the hike by the short ascent to the Schabergkogel and the Geierkogel summit cross or even the EAST high-altitude trail leading to Saalfelden at the Biberg.
