Around Zeller See en route to Fusch

Lovely tour around Lake Zell, toward Fusch, to the Ponyhofalm in Bruck.

From Saalfelden, the route leads on quiet side streets southward to Zeller See. Along the bike path beside the Zeller Lake it becomes livelier, especially on sunny weekends. The views of the water and the surrounding peaks are rewarding quickly. Following the Tauernradweg, we reach Zell am See heading toward Bruck. We continue along the lake bike path to Fusch an der Großglocknerstraße. The goal is not the famous pass road; instead, we turn west and set our sights on the Brucker Berg — about 700 meters of elevation gain in one go, almost entirely gravel.

The ascent is challenging but varied. Shortly before the summit, there is a steep, technical section where you can push your bike if needed. At the top, the Ponyhofalm invites you to a well-deserved break with a beautiful view. The descent goes via Zeller Fusch back to the Tauernradweg toward Bruck and to Zeller See, which we now ride along the east shore through Thumersbach. Along gravel sections and bike paths, we return to Saalfelden at a relaxed pace. If you want to avoid the climb and take a shorter option, you can ride the route flat around the lake.
