From 11 July: Bike & Hike Xpress Connects Tyrol and Salzburg
Just in time for the start of the summer holidays, the new Bike & Hike Xpress will begin operating. From 11 July to 30 August 2026, the service will, for the first time, connect the Fieberbrunn Mountain Lifts in Tyrol with the Leogang Mountain Lifts in the SalzburgerLand region. This joint pilot project creates a direct and comfortable connection between two Austrian provinces and two of the Alps' most popular biking and hiking destinations.
Whether you're a mountain biker, hiker or travelling with the family, the Bike & Hike Xpress offers a convenient way to experience the highlights of both regions. Mountain bikers can easily switch between the trails in Fieberbrunn and the Epic Bikepark Leogang, or use the connection as part of the popular "The Challenge" route. Hikers gain easy access to a wide variety of tours around the Wildseeloder in Fieberbrunn and the Asitz mountain in Leogang. Families benefit from a hassle-free journey to the adventure attractions Timok's Wild World in Fieberbrunn and the Mountain of Senses in Leogang – all without the need for a car.
The shuttle service runs between the Fieberbrunn Mountain Lifts, Hochfilzen railway station, and the Leogang Mountain Lifts. A one-way ticket costs €5, while a return ticket is €8. For every adult ticket purchased, one child travels free of charge. The service also accommodates pushchairs, wheelchairs, and up to 16 bicycles.
The Bike & Hike Xpress is the result of close cooperation between the PillerseeTal Tourism Association, Saalfelden Leogang Tourism, the Fieberbrunn Mountain Lifts, and the Leogang Mountain Lifts. Together, the four partners are setting a strong example of cross-border cooperation between Tyrol and Salzburg while creating an attractive mobility solution that offers both visitors and locals greater flexibility for their biking and hiking adventures.
