Sensitive power drummer Valentin Schuster is known at the festival for the chamber punk jazz of Edi Nulz and elevator punk with CRUTCHES. The fact that the Austrian in Berlin is also active in the prog-metal duo Pero Pero may explain the heavier approach of Wobble8. Named after a stress-relieving fidget spinner, he and this quartet—featuring Argentinian baritone saxophonist Sofia Salvo, Polish keyboardist Marta Warelis, and Norwegian bassist/singer Dan Peter Sundland—will be energizing the Gruberhalle this year. Judging by the track titles, everything from "Sensory Overload" to the flying head god of "Zardoz" is on offer.
