- TONspur Bühne am Asitz
TONspur concert II - Angelika Kirchschlager
“Even the tiniest song can turn darkness into light” (Franz von Assisi)
Angelika Kirchschlager and the young Kosovo pianist Mennan Bërvenik captivate audiences with their sympathy and authenticity. Born in Salzburg, she is one of the most sought-after mezzo sopranos. An expert in her field, she is achieving great acclaim for her performances in the world’s most famous opera houses and concert halls. Her Grammy award, BBC Music Award, European Culture Prize, Austrian Musical Theatre Prize, and 4 ECHO Classic Awards speak for themselves, but this superb chamber singer has never lost touch with her roots, and loves to perform evenings of Lieder in smaller settings.
During a lovely Lieder evening, Angelika Kirchschlager performs works by Schumann, Brahms and Schubert, taking the TONspur audience on a wonderful journey of song, with sensitive, virtuoso piano accompaniment provided by Mennan Bërveniku.
Mennan Bërveniku was born in Pristina (Kosovo) in 1992. He started learning the piano at the age of 9 and completed his studies at the local music grammar school in just 2 years instead of the usual 4. He then went on to study at the University of Music and Performing Arts, completing a number of masters courses.
Ensemble:
Angelika Kirchschlager – Mezzo soprano
Mennan Bërveniku – Piano
Concerts will be held in accordance with current Covid-19 regulations.
