The versatile trombonist, composer, and arranger Robinson Khoury stands among the most promising new voices on the French jazz horizon. His name has been making waves not only as a member of the Paris-based Oriental Post Rock / Analogue Synthesizer / World Jazz sextet Sarāb, and as a soloist with the renowned Metropole Orkest, but also through collaborations with legends such as Quincy Jones and Ibrahim Maalouf.
With his new trio MŸA, Khoury sets out on a sonic quest to trace the organic origins of life — exploring the rhythms and resonances of our ancestors through electro-acoustic landscapes sculpted with modular synthesizers and wordless vocalizations. Deeply rooted in both Middle Eastern tonalities and the language of modern jazz, the trio embodies a meeting point of heritage and innovation, reflection and forward motion.
