Perchten Parade Saalfelden
The Saalfeld Perchtenlauf is one of the most impressive traditional events in the region and stands out from other processions due to its unique concept. Only Perchten and Perchten figures participate in the run, providing an authentic representation of this old alpine tradition.
Around 350 Perchten parade through the city, captivating with intricately carved masks, imposing garments, and impressive performances. The Three Wise Men on horseback create a festive opening, adding a special atmosphere to the procession. The event is musically accompanied by the Eisenbahner Stadtkapelle, whose sounds enhance the ambiance of the Perchtenlauf. The riders and whip-crackers group also contributes to the special experience with their traditional skills.
