ALM:KULTUR: Concert "Kasita Kanto"
Kaŝita Kanto are a German-speaking singer-songwriter duo who, with their unique blend of soulful songwriting and atmospheric world folk, operate beyond the mainstream.
To mark their 12th anniversary on stage, they are releasing their third album, ‘Zwischen den Welten’ (Between Worlds), this year, presenting the songs to audiences for the first time on their tour of the same name.
Influenced by their roots in Europe and their second home, India, they process their personal experiences in songs, bringing themselves and the world a little closer together. Their music is like a journey into our possibilities, but also into our blind spots – always guided by a longing for the essential.
At their concerts, sensitive guitar melodies mix with powerful vocals, like sweet chai and spicy masala – wonderfully warm and imbued with a feeling of vastness and connectedness.
All this is served on the atmospheric soundscape of the Indian shruti box.
Their own poems, thoughts and stories, including those from their almost two and a half years in India, take the audience from everyday life deep into the worlds between.
Kaŝita Kanto – that is life-affirming melancholy with depth, in its lightest form.
