Tour along various lakes in Salzburgland and Tyrol.
This varied lakeside tour starts in Saalfelden and first heads toward Leogang, passing the Epic Bikepark Leogang with impressive views of the Leoganger Steinberge mountains. From Hochfilzen you reach the Tiroler Pillerseetal – directly to the perhaps most beautiful mountain lake reachable by a gravel bike: the Pillersee. Especially striking is the stretch along the east shore between St. Ulrich and Waidring, framed by mountains and accompanied by fine, grippy gravel.
From Waidring you descend through a narrow valley with towering rock faces toward Lofer, where another highlight awaits: the Aschauer Klamm. There you experience impressive rock formations, short tunnels, and top-notch gravel sections – one of the most spectacular gravel stretches in the region.
Next, you cross the border at Unterjettenberg and ride up to the picturesque Hintersee. The final ascent to Hirschbichl challenges the legs once more, but rewards you with alpine panorama, a rustic inn option, and border views. Then you roll on asphalt down to Weißbach and relax along the Tauernradweg back to Saalfelden.
