„A tough Hatscha“, the „Pinzga Hatscha“

Pack your backpack, lace up your shoes and embark on a mountain adventure of a special kind: the new "Pinzga Hatcha" is waiting for you.

The route takes its hikers on almost 400 kilometers through six Pinzgau regions. From gentle nature trails to high alpine passages, the 15 stages offer everything the Pinzgau mountain world has to offer.

The regions of Salzburger Saalachtal, Hochkonig, Maishofen, Viehhofen, Saalbach Hinterglemm and Saalfelden Leogang have united and launched the unique project of the long-distance hiking trail across the Pinzgau. Nomen est omen, because “hacha” is colloquially referred to as a long walk. And with its 393 kilometres and over 9000 metres of altitude uphill or as many metres of altitude downhill, on a total of 15 stages to be covered, the new “Pinzga Hatscha” has always earned this designation.

Experience the natural and cultural landscape of Pinzgau on 15 stages
Anyone who has already pulled the hiking map can guess that there are countless breathtaking mountain experiences waiting along the varied route. Whether in the midst of a landscape of stone and rock in the Steinern Sea, over green ridges on the Spielberghorn or with the power of the water through the Seisenberg Gorge - the "Hatscha" has everything that the local mountain world has to offer and is suitable for experienced long-distance hikers as well as for beginners and families who can choose a suitable stage for themselves. For the necessary strengthening, there are numerous managed huts along the long-distance hiking trail, which serve hearty alpine cuisine during a short (or longer) stay.

Support by bus, train or gondola allowed!
The “Pinzga Hatscha” can be experienced entirely on foot, but also with the integration of the summer mountain railways or public transport. This makes the mountain experience of a special kind possible for hikers of all levels.
