Mountain adventures, panoramic views and unforgettable moments – the Saalachtaler High Trail showcases some of the region’s most beautiful highlights.

From Saalfelden via Leogang and Saalbach Hinterglemm to Viehhofen and back to Saalfelden, this varied multi-day hike takes you through spectacular alpine landscapes.

The first stage to Leogang starts gently, accompanied by the soothing sound of a mountain stream. The following day takes you in the footsteps of the region’s historic miners through the Schwarzleotal valley, across the Spielbergtörl and onwards to the Reiterkogel. From here, you can shorten the descent into the Glemmtal valley by taking the cable car.

Day three starts with a cable car ride up to the Zwölferkogel. From there, the panoramic trail leads across high alpine terrain to the Schattberg. Along the way, enjoy breathtaking views of the impressive 3,000-metre peaks of the Hohe Tauern and the summits of the Kitzbühel Alps.

On the fourth stage, the Saalachtaler High Trail leads down the valley towards Viehhofen. The final day brings one more highlight: after hiking up to Biberg, a thrilling ride on the summer toboggan run takes you back down to Saalfelden.

A perfect adventure for anyone looking to combine alpine nature, spectacular views and plenty of variety along the way.
