Lukas Kranzelbinder – double bass, leader
Christian Reiner – voice
Lorenz Raab – trumpet
Leonhard Skorupa – saxophone
Jim Black – drums, percussion
For many years, the Austrian bassist and composer Lukas Kranzelbinder (Shake Stew, Mario Rom's Interzone) has been hiking on Alpine paths to mountain peaks with audiences in search of a sound that spreads in all directions. His goal is to anchor music in a traditional mountain setting. For the 2019 Saalfelden Jazz Festival, he has assembled an international all-star band to guide the tours and enable listeners to experience sound in a unique ambience. Listeners will first take the Asitz mountain railway, and then hike the panoramic Saalachtaler mountain path up to the Durchenkopf peak—only to descend to the idyllic Sinnlehenalm alpine hut. Once there, audiences will enjoy a nice closing concert and a hearty homemade meal. This event has been arranged in cooperation with Bergwelten Magazin.
