TONspur concert IV - Kapelle So&So
“What is best in music is not to be found in the notes.” (Gustav Mahler)
“There are many advantages of 6 musicians who have known each other for a long time forming a band, rather than being somehow cast together. For one thing, it makes music flow more naturally together. You know the sound of your colleagues, you can guess what phrasing they will use, and you immediately have a feeling of how you can integrate yourself into the combined sound of the group….” Bartholomäus Natter, trumpeter in the legendary Holstuonarmusigbigbandclubs (HMBC) describes nicely why Kapelle so&so has been so successful. Their earthy, energetic sound coupled with a musical coolness and knife sharp ensemble playing has thrilled audiences in Bavaria and Austria ever since their first guesthouse tour in 2017.
They play (and sing) predominantly their own compositions, but also perform skilfully arranged classics from polkas and waltzes through to Reggae, the "Allegro Rondo" by Johann Nepomuk Hummel, or part of Haydn’s trumpet concerto.
In 2017, a Bavarian-Pinzgau quintet called “so&so” was booked for an Asitz Music Night, but at short notice decided to bring a guitarist with them, forming a sextet. This appearance in the AsitzBräu marked the birth of “Kapelle so&so” in their present lineup, and the beginning of a rapidly developing career.
Lineup:
Johann Auer – Diatonic accordion, vocals
Michael Graf – Guitar, vocals
Korbinian Weber – Flügelhorn, vocals
Sebastian Höglauer – Flügelhorn, vocals
Stefan Huber – Tuba, vocals
Manuel Haitzmann – Based trumpet, vocals
Concerts will be held in accordance with current Covid-19 regulations.
