Natsuki Tamura Solo: Short Cuts - Jazzfestival 2014
This event has already taken place.„Dragon Nat“
Japan
Natsuki Tamura - trumpet, vocals, percussion
Inspired by Wadada Leo Smith and Hugh Ragin, the Japanese trumpeter Natsuki Tamura explores different soundscapes, particularly focusing on the rough edges. After many years of performing with big bands such as Skyliners Orchestra and World Sharps Orchestra, he has now ventured out on his own. Tamura’s wife, pianist Satoko Fuji, is instrumental in helping the artist cheerfully lift the curtain on profane existence. In his most recent work, however, Tamura is completely on his own, intermittently showcasing his lyrical side with gusto.
