Konzert: AGNES PALMISANO – „Die besten Jahre“

Agnes Palmisano (vocals), Daniel Fuchsberger (contra guitar), Andreas Teufel (Schrammel accordion)

Agnes Palmisano — described by the press as an “icon of Viennese song” and the “queen of the Viennese dudler” — places her three-octave voice at the service of interpreting Viennese song tradition, addressing life and aging with musical depth and humor. What began with a young singing student from Saalfelden who set out to revive the “Viennese dudler” — the 19th-century Viennese coloratura yodel that has been listed as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage since 2011 — has become an artist who has a song for every situation in life and approaches it with wit and lightness.

With dreamlike stylistic confidence, she moves effortlessly between genres: traditional and self-written Viennese songs, dudlers, couplets, and cabaret chansons. Her voice reveals every color and nuance, soaring to dizzying heights and plunging into dark depths, touching the listener through both beauty and expressive power.

When Agnes Palmisano teams up with Daniel Fuchsberger on contra guitar, Andreas Teufel on Schrammel accordion, and Aliosha Biz on violin — “getting together for a session,” as they say — the result is chamber music in the smallest possible ensemble at the highest level, or perhaps even the “greatest” band in the world.
