Mathyas trades his life as a young advertising executive in Montreal to become a shepherd in Provence. However, the harsh reality of the shepherd's world forces him to question his romanticized view of the profession. A visit from Élise, a civil servant who has spontaneously quit her job, gives Mathyas' search a new direction. Together, they set off on a journey with a flock of sheep under their sole responsibility. Growing through their encounters and trials in the mountains, they create a new life for themselves.
