Kabarett: SONJA PIKART
A Programme About Heroines and Heroes – and Those Who Never Were
There are so many summits in this country – and we’re not just talking about mountains: the world’s highest rocking chair, the largest walk-in wine bottle in Styria, the fastest summer toboggan run this side of the Danube. Superlatives wherever you look – and they all have to be climbed, conquered, mastered and overcome.
In a world that divides everything and everyone into winners and losers, every small town has to have the biggest something, and every person has to constantly surpass themselves. But when strength becomes an end in itself, isn’t every summit also a low point?
Sonja Pikart observes how “strong” men, driven by their hunger for power, swallow up the planet. How high performers at the gym train their hearts – not so they can love better, but so they can run away faster. Along the way, she discovers poetry in times of weakness. Surrounded by an army of nuclear families who believe they have won the game of life, she finds romance in friendship.
And when, at the weakest moment of her life, someone shouts at her, “You’re so strong!”, she creates an action figure of herself and realises: now is the time to feel immortal!
