Successful Autumn for Cycling: 10,000 Visitors at the bike festival Saalfelden Leogang

10,000 visitors, fully booked youth races and more than 300 participants taking part in workshops and group rides with professional riders

the bike festival Saalfelden Leogang once again demonstrated in 2026 that autumn in the region belongs firmly to the cycling community. The new date in early October proved its worth and will be retained: from 1 to 3 October 2027, the bike festival will return for another edition.

For three days, Saalfelden Leogang was all about cycling. Around 10,000 visitors attended the bike festival, taking the opportunity to test the latest bikes and products, hit the trails alongside renowned professional riders or watch the racing at Epic Bikepark Leogang.

Interest was particularly high in the “Ride with the Pros” sessions and workshops run by the BIKE Academy. More than 300 participants took part in the various rides and courses, picking up first-hand tips on riding technique, line choice and bike control. With Lukas Knopf, Elias Schwärzler, Marlena Neißl, Maximus Wielopolski and other well-known names from the scene, numerous professional riders were also on site in 2026.

Sold-out Kids Cup and 200 riders in the Gravity Series

The VPACE Kids Cup showed that the next generation is already passionate about cycling, too. With 150 young participants, the youth race was completely sold out. The action continued with the final of the auner Austrian Gravity Series, where around 200 riders took on the courses at Epic Bikepark Leogang on Sunday.

Christoph Handl claimed victory in the Men’s Elite category with a time of 2:28.00, ahead of David Martins and Sebastian Steunhäusler. In the Elite Women & Juniors category, Marlene Kerschbaumer-Stöckler came out on top. Tobias Schweiger was the fastest Junior, finishing in 2:26.78 ahead of Benjamin Kowald and Xaver Vogl.

Alongside the races, workshops and group rides, the Expo once again served as a central meeting point at the festival. Numerous brands showcased the latest bikes, components and innovations, giving visitors the opportunity to try products out directly on site and on the region’s lines and trails.

New autumn date proves its worth

By moving to early October, the bike festival 2026 deliberately opted for a later date in the cycling season – a decision that has clearly paid off. Once again, the festival brought the cycling community together while providing a strong boost for the autumn cycling season in Saalfelden Leogang.

It is therefore already clear that the bike festival will stick to its new date in 2027. From 1 to 3 October 2027, the cycling community will once again come together in Saalfelden Leogang.
