Never-Ending Season in Saalfelden Leogang: bike festival, Ladies Shred and a Bikepark Documentary

Is autumn the best time of year? On the trails around Saalfelden Leogang and in the Epic Bikepark Leogang, it definitely is – and it feels like the longest season, too. Until at least 8 November, this Pinzgau mountain biking paradise stays open to every rider who just can't get enough. From 2 to 4 October 2026 the bike festival Saalfelden Leogang returns for its 7th edition. For three days, the Epic Bikepark Leogang turns into one big mountain biking celebration: at the expo, more than 40 brands will showcase their latest gear – including the brand-new 2027 MTB models – ready to test ride right on the surrounding lines and trails. On top of that, there are ride-outs and workshops with pro riders as part of the BIKE Academy, a stage program, talks, bike shows and plenty of food to fuel up on, before the festival party kicks off in the evening. The next generation gets plenty of love, too: at the VPACE Kids Cup, young riders aged 5 to 11 go head-to-head, while at the auner Austrian Gravity Series, up-and-coming downhill talent races on tracks like Bongo Bongo, T-Line by GoPro and Mini Speedster for points. Saalfelden Leogang will host the series finale as well as the Salzburg and Tyrol state championships, which will take place simultaneously. And if you want to put the newest bikes to the test under real conditions, you're in luck: all three festival days, every line and trail in the Epic Bikepark Leogang is open, and visitors get 10% off their bike-ticket.
 

Ladies Shred Events at the Epic Bikepark Leogang
Mountain biking hasn't been a boys' club for a long time, and nowhere is that clearer than in Saalfelden Leogang: with its own Ladies Shred program, the Epic Bikepark Leogang creates a space where women can work on their skills under expert guidance, connect with other riders, and grow beyond their comfort zone – by women, for women. After last season's huge response, the program is back and bigger than ever:
 
At the Bike & Yoga Retreat (7-9 August), riding skills meet relaxation, while Mum's Day (29 August and 26 September) is aimed squarely at moms with little to no biking experience who want a playful way into the sport. At the Wifey Session (30 August), designed specifically for women 35 and up, the focus is on the basics – finally leaving the gravel road and bike path behind. At the two-day Girls Shred Too Camp (5-6 September), riders are grouped by skill level to shred through the bike park together, and at the Ladies Gravity Day (30 August and 27 September), expert coaching zeroes in on jump technique, tables and drops.

Throwback & Giveaway: 25 Years of Epic Bikepark Leogang
Saalfelden Leogang already celebrated a major milestone back in late July: the (Leo)Gang Days brought three days of festivities for the bike community, from 24 to 26 July, honoring the park's origins – opened in 2001 as Austria's first bike park, and today a cornerstone of the international MTB scene. Admission was free, and the arena around the Asitzbahn base station turned into a meeting point for riders of every generation, featuring challenges, an expo and a family rally in the Riders' Playground. The weekend's highlight came Saturday night with the Night Whip-Off, where top riders like Lina Frener, Emma Iten and Kilian Buhl threw down massive airtime under the floodlights, followed by an after-party that ran deep into the night.
 
With the 25th Anniversary Photo Contest, the birthday celebrations don't stop at the anniversary weekend – they run all the way through to the end of the season: on the Hangman II, Flying Gangster and Flow Link by Fox lines, automatic photo boxes capture every run, with the shot available to download for free right after.
