Races for the history books
Four times in a row, Leogang was the venue for legendary races and historical entries into the history books. In 2014 Aaron Gwin (USA) passed the finish line with a flat rear tire, the tube had disappeared a few seconds after the start. The following year the tires survived, but the chain didn‘t. But Aaron Gwin apparently does not need it, because he still managed to finish the race as fastest guy of the day. Last year the British Rachel Atherton won her tenth World Cup victory in Leogang, thus securing an entry into the history books. In 2017 Aaron the „Gwinner“, by now also called „Mr. Leogang“, secured his 3rd win in a row in the Salzburg bike mekka. In 2018 a new face appeared on the scene with the Frenchman Amaury Pierron. We can definately look forward to another great event this upcoming June and can’t wait to see, what the fearless ladies and gentlemen of the World Cup Circus have in store for us.
