Doctor Hanna has lost everything due to a contagious disease. As an infected person, she is a carrier of the virus and has been excluded from society. She has retreated into the solitude of the mountains, where she has become a lone survivor in the harsh alpine wilderness. But when she encounters a young woman who is also among the outcasts, everything changes. Hanna takes her under her wing, and together they set off across the Alps towards the south, where a life of freedom seems within reach.
