Art hiking trail at Asitz

The artworks "World Images" by Anton Thuswaldner (July 17, 1929 – March 2, 2021) are exhibited from 06/01/2025 to approximately the end of September/mid-October, after which the hiking trail can still be passed depending on weather and snow conditions.

Glide with the Asitzbahn or the Steinbergbahn up to 1760 m to the mountain station – below the Asitzbahn mountain station begins the beautiful forest path over the area "Silent Waters at Asitz" to the Sinne Park at the Asitzbahn middle station. Every 30 to 40 meters there are pictures by Anton Thuswaldner, inviting you to a short rest and viewing. The artworks are exhibited from early June to mid-October.

The 2025 art hiking trail honors, in a retrospective, the life's work of the internationally recognized artist Anton Thuswaldner (July 17, 1929 – March 2, 2021). Sculptor, painter, draftsman. His works are described as contradictory, doubting, and provocative. Something mystical surrounds the complex art of the Kaprun artist. He seems to have spun his own worlds of numbers and letter codes as well as hidden secrets. In fact, it is criticism, warning, and a powerful shake-up of society. Thuswaldner's art is about freedom, reality, time, and peace. Themes that were and still are of great importance. The numbers show the step to abstraction clearly; they are decipherable if you know the easily cracked code. A term, a word, a message emerges from the mountain of numbers representing a reality. Each viewer reassembles this anew.

Every year, a new theme is dedicated to this hiking trail. Regional and international artists are allowed to present their pictures.
