Schößwendter Holz GmbH
In the 1950s, Paul Schößwendter Sr. took over a small sawmill in Hinterthal (near Maria Alm) from his father.
In 1960, he acquired the site in Saalfelden, Uttenhofen, and closed the sawmill in Hinterthal.
The previous owners of the current site had operated a sawmill intermittently until 1960. They produced sawn timber, wood wool, and barrel staves—hence the name “Daubensäge” (stave saw). From then on, the Daubensäge was continuously expanded, wood drying facilities were built, and the further processing of sawn timber into planed goods began. Today, 130 employees process 280,000 solid cubic meters of round timber into sawn timber and planed goods every year.
