Based in the Pinzgau region of Salzburg, Saalfelden Leogang is the most multi-faceted holiday region in the Alps – where limestone giants give way to gentle grass-covered mountains, rural atmosphere contrasts with urban lifestyle and tradition meets innovation. Both towns are situated in the Saalach Tal and Leoganger Tal valley, around 15 kilometres north of Zell am See. The region is bordered by the Steinernes Meer plateau to the north, the Leoganger Steinberge mountains to the west, the Hochkönig massif to the east and the Kitzbühel Alps to the south.
