Ecotopia is the name of the futuristic fantasy kingdom of Italian troubadour, poet, singer-songwriter, cantautore and environmental activist Luca Bassanese. For fifteen years and a good dozen albums, he and his Piccola Orchestra Popolare have been bringing rousing love songs and green grooves to festival stages from Sziget to, finally, Saalfelden. Italian folklore meets tarantellas, opera buffa is spiced up with Balkan brass. Manu Chao would have fun when Superman rhymes with Peter Pan.
