Bad weather on holiday? No problem thanks to the Saalfelden Leogang Card

Sunshine, beautiful hikes and exciting bike tours - these words come to my mind when I think of vacations in Saalfelden Leogang. But even when the weather doesn't show itself from its best side, I don't get bored here. With the Saalfelden Leogang Card I can discover countless offers which are independent of the weather. Let's go!

Day 1: Discover Culture

The bad weather offers the perfect opportunity to get to know the culture of the region and I spend my day visiting the most diverse museums nearby. First, it takes me to the Mining and Gothic Museum in Leogang. There I discover mining masterpieces and Gothic art, such as the prayer nut of Mary of Burgundy. The museum pieces were created during the heyday of mining, and you get some exciting impressions from that time.

After I have marveled at the gothic works of art, I continue to Franz Bründl's minerals museum (short in advance reservation by phone required). In the mineral museum I admire the most beautiful treasures from Leogang's depths, some of which the collector has mined himself. More than 1,700 finds can be viewed and Mr. Bründl is always trying to answer all questions. After my visit to his showroom, I explore his sales room where I buy a beautiful gemstone for home.

The last destination on my museum tour takes me to Saalfelden, to the Schloss Ritzen Museum, which is one of the last four existing castles in Saalfelden as well as one of the oldest museums in the Pinzgau region. The exhibition focuses on the origins and history of the region. The original objects also provide an authentic insight and are presented according to our time.

Thanks to the Saalfelden Leogang Card, all admissions to my museum rally were free or reduced, and with this an exciting day full of new impressions of the region comes to an end.

Day 2: Shopping in Saalfelden Leogang

After yesterday's cultural experience in Saalfelden Leogang, today I'm looking forward to a relaxing day spent strolling around. The shopping town of Saalfelden invites with a cozy pedestrian zone to stroll and with the Saalfelden Leogang Card I get various discounts in the numerous stores. This is, after all, the perfect opportunity for me to browse for a new dirndl apron to give my dirndl a fresh charm. For this, I visit the Wienerroither clothing factory. Regina Wienerroither, inventor of the stretch dirndl and master dressmaker, who attaches great importance to sustainable and human-ecological production of her fashion. The selection ranges from various dirndl blouses and matching dirndls for women to classic leather pants and modern gilets for men.

After my shopping rush, however, I notice that I still have no souvenirs for my loved ones at home. So, I end my stroll with a visit to the Creative Shop in Leogang. There I encounter countless homemade products made of wood as well as care and fragrance products and a wide selection of decorative items for the interior and exterior. Here you will definitely find something suitable for everyone.

Day 3: Action and Relaxation

After I have two rather leisurely days behind me, I would prefer doing something sportier again. Indoor golfing, which is offered at the Hotel Gut Brandlhof, is perfect in this case. So, I spend my day learning new golf skills on the state-of-the-art golf simulator "Sky-Track".

Thanks to my sportier activities, I now want to spend the evening in a more relaxed setting. I decide to take the bus, which is free with the Saalfelden Leogang Card, to Kaprun to the Tauern SPA, where I pay the offer of 3 hours, but get entire 4 hours with the guest card to relax. In addition, a water and sauna world of over 20,000 m² awaits me in the Tauern SPA. Excellent to end the evening and the past exciting days.

Now I look back on three eventful days. I got some cultural impressions, had a successful shopping day, was able to acquire new skills and I also didn’t lack relaxation. I'm already looking forward to taking advantage of other Saalfelden Leogang Card offers during my next vacation.
